How Lou Gerstner turn around IBM


I just read the above post, I joined IBM as Lou Gerstner was leading IBM and seen the transformation made.


when Lou Gerstner was brought into ibm... he did not see a single organization but many warlords with different vision, different goals and different operational framework. He realize to succeed, he need to unify the vision, set the messages, instill a single set of target and define a unified operational framework. EG. marketing cannot operate independant of sales, all department need to be manage to achieve single goal... meaning development build what sell, Marketing market what developer provided... delivery must be set with goals in line with everyone else... with that single unified framework, Lou Gerstner turn ibm around... check if your organization all have a unified vision, integrated goals and operate and measure in the same framework.
